Story
Boujad is a small town in the Tadla plain, best known as a centre of Sufi learning and the seat of the Cherkaoui spiritual lineage, whose zawiya — a teaching lodge — has drawn disciples and pilgrims for generations. The town grew around the lodge and its weekly souk, and it carries the quiet, devout air of a place that lives by faith and the farms of the plain. The older medina holds modest mud-brick houses and the workshops of weavers.
This is for the traveller drawn to Sufi Morocco, or breaking the road between Khouribga and the Tadla. It is modest and spiritual; come for the zawiya, the souk, and the calm of a pilgrim town.
