Story
Azilal is the gateway town to the central High Atlas — a provincial capital perched on the slopes above the Oued el Abid, the river whose name means "servant" and whose valley runs down toward Ouzoud's famous falls. Behind the town rise the M'Goun massif and the high trails of Aït Bouguemez, the "happy valley" that trekkers cross days to reach. Azilal itself is a working administrative centre, plain and useful, the supply stop before the mountains take over.
