The experience
Tissint's attraction lies in contrasts: dark rock, a watercourse, palms and a history of salt in an arid setting. A local guide chooses safe public views and explains which features are natural, worked or seasonally active. The walk does not guarantee waterfall flow or invite jumping into pools whose depth and quality are unknown. A salt-history conversation can include trade and local use without promising access to workings. This careful framing turns a quick swimming-pin mentality into a strong geology and livelihood stop.

Tissint is a small oasis town in the lower Draa Valley — south of Zagora, where the palm corridor thins and the desert presses closer, and the river that watered the oasis for centuries runs underground more often than above.
