Story
Temara is the city directly south of Rabat, now almost fused with it, grown from a small market town into a major commuter and industrial satellite of the capital. Its fortunes turned with the royal palace and the heavy military presence that came with them, and today it holds factories, housing estates, and one of the kingdom's largest zoos — the National Zoo of Rabat — set among eucalyptus and pine. The Atlantic beaches of Harhoura and Val d'Or lie just to the west.
This is for the traveller staying near Rabat for work or family, or visiting the zoo with children. It is a practical, built-up place; its interest is functional — the zoo, the beaches, and the proximity to the capital.
