Story
Tan-Tan is a southern port city on the road between Guelmim and the deep south — a working centre of fishing and phosphate, its harbour at Tan-Tan Plage a small fleet against the Atlantic, its inland town a grid of administrative streets and family life. It is best known for the Tan-Tan moussem, the great annual gathering of southern tribes that UNESCO has recognised for the heritage it carries, filling the city with camels, music, and the desert's memory.
This is for the overland traveller on the long road south, and the one who wants to meet the south at its own festival. It is not a tourist town; its gift is its work, its harbour, and its moussem.
