El ouatia beach
Story
Tan-Tan Plage — also called El Ouatia — is the Atlantic port of Tan-Tan, twenty-odd kilometres from the inland town: a working fishing harbour on a coast where the desert presses right to the water and the fleets land the catch that feeds the southern cities. It is also the seaside venue of the great Tan-Tan moussem, when the tribes gather with their camels and the shore fills with the music of the deep south.
This is for the traveller on the southern coast who wants a working port rather than a resort, and the moussem-goer. It is not a beach holiday; its gift is the fish, the festival, and the edge of the ocean.
