Tamuda is where Tétouan's deep history leaves the museum case and meets the Martil valley. The remains preserve traces of a Mauretanian settlement and a later Roman military presence, making the site valuable for comparing an indigenous town with the imperial fortification that followed. A conservation-minded visit should focus on wall lines, terrain and river access rather than climbing masonry or collecting fragments.
