The experience
The Ounila road is presented as a chain of inhabited and vulnerable earth-built settlements, not a film-set shortcut. A heritage interpreter uses Telouet, Anemiter, Tamdakht and the approach to Ait-Ben-Haddou to compare defensive siting, valley agriculture and repair in raw earth. Stops favour public lanes and exterior readings; roof access, abandoned rooms and private compounds are never presumed safe. The drive gains depth from repetition with difference: each settlement answers slope, water and trade in its own way.
