Story
Nador is the great port city of the eastern Rif — a Mediterranean commercial capital on the edge of the Marchica lagoon, separated by a thin spit from the open sea, and pressed against the Spanish enclave of Melilla whose lights shine across the border each night. It is a working city of trade, fishing, and the remittance economy that ties the Rif to its diaspora. The lagoon, fifty kilometres long, is the city's quiet miracle — flamingos in the shallows at dawn.
