Gourougou rises abruptly behind Nador, turning the Marchica lagoon, city and Mediterranean coast into one readable landscape. Its rounded volcanic relief and forest cover offer a geological counterpoint to the wetland below. A guided ridge circuit should use established public roads and paths, choosing a safe panorama rather than promising a summit or an unverified shortcut. Interpretation can connect bedrock, slope vegetation, urban expansion and lagoon hydrology, while acknowledging that the mountain is also a socially sensitive space and never treating vulnerable people as part of the scenery. On clear days the visual scale is exceptional; on hazy or windy days, a shorter forest walk with careful geological observation remains a complete experience.
