Figuig's palm harvest is meaningful because it sits inside a three-level garden and water system, not because dates can be sampled on demand. This locally coordinated programme follows the actual agricultural window announced by hosts. Components may include a garden walk, explanation of date varieties, a consented demonstration of sorting or storage, an irrigation lesson and a meal using products genuinely available that day. No traveler is promised harvesting labor, access to a private plot or the Aziza Bouzid variety without confirmation. The programme should pay hosts for time and interpretation, keep groups small and include a heat or crop-timing fallback focused on architecture and water. It turns terroir into relationship, technique and season rather than a generic tasting.

Figuig is not one picturesque ksar multiplied seven times. Each fortified community has its own lanes, thresholds, memory and relationship to the palm gardens, while water ties the oasis together through springs, basins, channels and social rules. This two-day circuit deliberately slows the sequence: three or four ksour on the first day, the remaining communities and a water-focused garden walk on the second. The road is always local-guide led, with interior access negotiated rather than assumed.
- Atalayoun Lagoon Peninsula Walk
Atalayoun is the place to read Marchica as water, shore and planned waterfront in the same walk. From the peninsula, changing angles reveal the lagoon's scale, Nador's urban edge and Gourougou behind it. The activity should be a paced public-realm circuit led by a birding or landscape guide, not an implication that every marina, hotel or private development is open.
