Modern and traditional crafts market in Bogotá
The experience
Instead of moving visitors from one sales room to another, this activity equips them to document craft evidence responsibly. A guide chooses a small number of authorized public or workshop contexts and asks participants to record material, tool marks, sequence, vocabulary and the maker's own explanation. Metal engraving, wood, plaster or tile may feature, but no craft is guaranteed unless a participating workshop confirms it. UNESCO identifies the medina's traditional building and decoration knowledge as central to its authenticity, so the session treats artisans as knowledge holders rather than scenery.
Season and access
Workshop participation is appointment-dependent; photography, recording and purchase are always opt-in and locally agreed.
