Story
Zag is a small commune in the deep south's Assa-Zag province — hamada country, the stony desert that stretches between the Draa and the Atlantic south, where the roads are long and the settlements are sparse. It is a place of the few rather than the many: a market centre for the surrounding pastoral families, a stopping point on the back roads, and a reminder that the kingdom extends far into country most outsiders never see.
This is for the overland traveller already committed to the southern back roads, not the casual visitor. It is not a destination with services to expect; its gift is its existence, a continuity of life in hard, beautiful country.
