A sense of place

Taza's Great Mosque gives the upper medina a historical center of gravity, but the responsible visitor product is an exterior and urban-setting stop unless current custodians explicitly authorize more. From surrounding lanes, an interpreter can explain why Taza's position between Rif and Middle Atlas made the town strategically important, then read the mosque alongside walls, gates and the steep change in level between old and newer quarters. The monument is also associated with an important historic chandelier, a fact better handled through sourced explanation than promises of close viewing. This seed expands Taza beyond cave excursions and makes its city fabric a reason to stay rather than merely pass through on the A2.
