Story
Sidi Yahya El Gharb is a town in the heart of the Gharb plain, an agricultural centre surrounded by the citrus, rice, and sugar-beet fields that define this fertile region. Founded around the shrine of a local saint — Sidi Yahya — it grew with the colonial farms and later irrigation projects that turned the plain into Morocco's breadbasket. The town is quiet and modern, its streets shaded by eucalyptus, and its weekly market serves the surrounding villages.
This is for the traveller crossing the Gharb between Kenitra and the interior, or tracing the agricultural north. It is plain and pleasant; come for the market day and the green fields, not for sights.
