A sense of place
West of the better-known Imlil approach, the N'Fis valley offers a quieter lesson in how earthen villages, orchards and a mountain river share a narrow corridor. The experience is intentionally linear: a public outlook near Ouirgane, a village-scale architecture stop and an Ijoukak orientation before any decision to continue toward Tinmel or Tizi n'Test. It is not a promise that monuments or private kasbahs are open. A resident interpreter can explain rebuilding, water use and roadside trade without turning post-earthquake recovery into spectacle. Travellers should book it for landscape and lived heritage, with purchases and meals attached through named local hosts.
