Story
Kasba Tadla is an old crossing town on the Oum er-Rbia — the river that feeds the Tadla plain, and the reason a kasbah once stood here to guard the ford and the trade road between the Atlas and the Atlantic coast. The kasbah's walls are the memory; the modern town lives around them, a plain-market centre serving the farms and the phosphate road. The river runs green through the brown country.
This is for the traveller tracing the old cross-country roads, or the one who collects kasbahs the way others collect postcards. It is not a restored showpiece; its gift is the river, the ford, and the layers of history beneath the modern streets.
