Story
Imzouren is the largest town of the Al Hoceima region after the city itself, a commercial hub on the Mediterranean coast that grew fast through the late twentieth century. It serves the surrounding Rif villages with markets, hospitals, and administration, and its beaches — Sfiha and Quemado nearby — draw Moroccan holidaymakers in summer. The 2004 earthquake hit this coast hard, and much of the town was rebuilt in concrete; the older charm sits beside the new pragmatism. It is busy, functional, and the working heart of the eastern Rif coast.
This is for the traveller using Al Hoceima's region as a base, or seeking the local beach scene. It is not picturesque; come for the markets and the shore, and the real life of the Rif.
