Imsouane

Imsouane is a tiny fishing village with two of the longest, gentlest point breaks in Morocco. The Bay is a meditation wave, peeling for hundreds of metres; Cathedral, around the headland, is hollow and heavy. The town is dirt-road simple — fish grills, surf hostels, a working harbour, and a horizon that often holds dolphins. Until surfers discovered the bay, this was a sleepy Atlantic port, and the wave is still the reason the road bends this far. Recent development pressure has tested its character, but the Bay holds.

This is for the longboarder, the slow surfer, and the traveller who wants the coast at its barefoot least. It is not for nightlife or for calm-water swimming; it is for the dawn, the wave, and the grilled catch.
