Story
Demnate is a piedmont town at the foot of the High Atlas, where the mountains hand off to the plains and the rivers begin their run toward the Tadla. Nearby, the Imi n'Ifri — a natural limestone bridge, its name meaning "cave mouth" — has carried foot traffic for centuries, and the great Ouzoud Falls, an hour's drive, throw a hundred metres of water into a red-rock amphitheatre full of rainbows and macaques. The town trades in olives and the harvest of the slopes.
This is for the traveller linking Marrakech to the Ouzoud region by the back road, and the seeker of the natural bridge. It is not a polished base; its gift is the country around it.
