A sense of place
The Mahkama du Pacha is the Habous district's most instructive lesson in civic image-making: a twentieth-century administrative building expressed through courtyards, carved plaster, cedar, tile and carefully staged neo-traditional form. Yet it remains an institutional building, not an always-open attraction. The durable tourism subject is therefore its exterior, urban placement and documented architectural language; any interior access belongs to a current, authorized offer. Paired with the planned Habous streets, the stop helps visitors see how Casablanca's modern growth did not only produce streamlined European façades—it also produced a designed Moroccan civic vocabulary. Large groups, speculative back-door entry and photography of security points are inappropriate.
