Brikcha is a small mountain town in the western Rif, set among the forests and terraced fields of one of Morocco's least-visited regions. The road to it climbs through cedar and holm oak, and the town itself is a modest cluster of houses and a weekly souk serving scattered farms. Like much of the central Rif, it carries the hardship and the pride of a region long left to itself — poor roads, strong ties, and a deep attachment to the land.
