Akhfennir is a small outpost on the Atlantic south coast — a fishing and oyster station between Tan-Tan and the long empty shoreline toward Tarfaya, where the desert meets the cold ocean and the wind never quite stops. Its oysters, grown in the clean upwelling of the Atlantic, are quietly among the best in Morocco, and the surrounding coast is a hundred kilometres of empty beach and seabirds. The town itself is barely a town.
