الحكاية
مراكش المدينة المهراء — التي أعطت المغرب اسمه، حيث جُبلت جدرانها من طين أحمر، وصومعة الكتبية هي العمود الفقريّ الذي بُني حوله الأفق كلّه. نهاراً تسحبك الأسواق إلى أزقّة الفوانيس والجلد والبهار؛ وليلاً تشتعل جامع الفنّاء مسرحاً مفتوحاً للرواة وأكشاك الطعام وقرع الطبول، يدوم منذ ألف عام. وخلف أبواب المدينة العتيقة المجهّلة تختبئ الرياضات التي رحّبت بالمسافرين تسعة قرون.
هذه للمسافر الذي يطلب الغمر — الحرّ، والضجيج، واللون مرفوعاً إلى مداه. وليست لطالب السكينة؛ فالمدينة العتيقة لا تعطي شيئاً برفق، وتطلب ثلاثة أيام على الأقلّ قبل أن تبدأ بالانفتاح.
