Arbaoua
Verhaal
Arbaoua is een klein stadje op de Gharb-vlakte aan de hoofdweg tussen Kenitra en Larache, een marktknooppunt genoemd — als veel Marokkaanse steden — naar de wekelijkse souk die hem stichtte. Het omringende land is deel van het grote Mamora-kurkeikenwoud in het noorden en de geïrrigeerde velden van de vlakte in het zuiden, en de stad dient zowel als stopplaats op de noordelijke snelweg als centrum voor lokale boeren. Het is klein, vlak en praktisch.
Dit is voor de reiziger die de weg tussen Rabat en Tanger breekt, of de Gharb doorkruist. Het is een snelwegstop en een marktplaats; zijn waarde is de pauze, de brandstof en een kop thee tussen grotere plaatsen.
