Assa

Assa’s annual zaouia moussem gathers religious observance, kinship visits and Saharan social exchange around the old oasis settlement and ksar. It is not a generic stage festival: its meaning comes from the zaouia, the Aït Oussa and other communities connected to Assa, and the meeting of settled and nomadic heritage. Dates, processions, market activity, access rules and photography conditions come only from the responsible edition authority.

Assa is a southern inland stop where ksar form, oasis edge and regional history deserve more than a refuelling pause. A local interpreter uses public lanes and a broad settlement view to explain compact building, shade, water and the town's place on roads toward Tata and Zag. Religious spaces and homes remain exterior unless their custodians provide current permission. The walk can include market or food setting, but no fixed souk day or dish is invented.
